Roncofreddo
In his fine writing about the landscape of Romagna for His Holiness the Pope Sisto Quinto, G.Pietro Ghisleri described Roncofreddo as a fertile land laying between Cesena and Savignano, particularly devoted to olive oil and wine production, were big amounts of high quality wines where made and sent away to be appreciated in the distant land of Venice:
“Roncofreddo , Castello alla montagan fra Cesena et Savignano, fertile at massime di vini et olei..ne mandano fuori assai et massime a Venetia, dove per la loro bontà hanno molto spaccio”. G.P. Ghisleri 1572
