Come to Villa Venti for that self-confident Romagna.

A few days ago, the Resto del Carlino newspaper published another excellent story about Sangiovese, our area and identity!

The “Romagna of Sangiovese” has made huge steps forward over the last 20 years. They took exactly the right path when the producers shook off a sense of inferiority to the Sangiovese of Tuscany and chose instead to vaunt their own distinctive, native Sangiovese, intimately reflecting Romagna’s own terroir or, rather, terroirs. Villa Venti is the impressive story of a family of artisan winegrowers that believes in a future built with their own hands. Amidst the hills of Romagna on the far side of the Rubicon, between the tight-clustered, enchanted medieval village of Roncofreddo, and Longiano, a town that the European Union declared an “Ideal Village,” lives a family that has been making wine forever, with that open smile and frank demeanour classic to the Romagnoli. They had always been centred on local style, tradition, and culture: “We believe in a philosophy of life that learns from nature, avoids stress, is anti-pollution and combats waste, one in which organic farming is an essential and uncompromising component,“ explains owner Mauro Giardini. These areas enjoy a centuries-old reputation for quality wine- and olive- growing, as evidenced by the fact that Venice historically purchased wine and olive oil from here. Villa Venti grows only grape varieties classic to this area, such as Sangiovese, Famoso, and Centesimino.
